This is simply outright restraint of trade. I know of no other line of retail concern that has this "protection". "Hello Roy",
if I want to buy on Sunday, I should be able to, case closed. How about a law that says tires can't be sold on Wednesdays, no haircuts on Fridays, no dining out of Thursdays.......totally ridiculous. I will go out of my way to buy beer in a grocery store, and not give a nickel to this "privileged" lobbying cartel....

Hello People just buy the liquor on Saturday its called planning ahead its not to hard to figure out. You don't have to go to the bar to drink buy the liquor on Saturday and stay home like big adults do. Commonsense.

Well maybe the package store owners want a day off on Sunday instead of selling booze to all the drunks.

The experts estimate $8 million dollars in sales tax revenue by allowing Sunday liquor sales. This means the gross sales would have to be an extra $130 million dollars per year. That equates to $2.5 million dollars per Sunday, and they say that the borders towns are losing this revenue. There is no way $2.5 million dollars in alcohol sales are leaving this state every Sunday. The figures are flawed and the supermarkets are behind the whole idea. Sunday is their busiest shopping day and they just want to capitalize on it. The package store owners would suffer.

More proof that the special interest groups and lobbyist run the State of Connecticut. Over 60% of voters polled were in support of Sunday liquor sales - in the bill dies in committee.. hmmm, really makes you think about who is in control of this State...

You will never see alcolhol sales here on Sunday in Connecticut.
Just drive across the border, and gas up there while you are at it.
Give revenue to our bordering states. Connecticut does not need the money.
