Nancy Pelosi exemplifies the worst Speaker of the House ever with her incompetence and stupidity, along with Harry Reid, Head of the Senate, and Barney Frank, Dem - Mass. who participated in the "Over Sight" (appropriately named) Committee to allow Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to continue their corruptive practices. The Dumbocrates accused President Bush of criminal activity, but the fact is they need to be prosecuted for their robbing the American taxpayers. Congress has the lowest rating ever with the populous as they have created the economical and financial problems and now they are having the taxpayers pay for their corruptness and mistakes. We have already suffered enough hardships from their crookedness.

Just my opinion and you can bash me all you want but to me, this administration is out of control - I can't understand the need to spend more money that we do not have. And if it's been years of too much spending then we need to stop it now - not continue it like this administration does. Nobody says ENOUGH. If a family can run a simple budget to manage their household, the government should be able to as well and we shouldn't have to suffer for it. If I have a budget and my lifestyle changes, so does my budget. I make cuts, I live within the budget. Nobody seems to be doing this - it is out of control in my honest opinion.

I also think healthcare needs to change but NOT THIS WAY. Let people buy across state lines, cap the lawsuits, I am sure there are other things that can be done. I'm no expert but I do not think forcing people to buy insurance is going to save any money.

The majority of people in the Tea Party movement are regular citizens who are fed up with congress. Many voted for Obama and were dismayed by they way he is governing. It is ridiculous to compare them to the Nazi movement. I admire them because they are going out and doing something and letting their voices be heard. If anything, they are like the original Boston Tea party.

Really the only thing us regular folks can do to stop this out of control government is call/write our representatives or do some kind of protesting. I went to Hartford to protest the state income tax (nothing, of course, came of it). Most of the tea party people are out because they don't want this healthcare bill to go through. They know our taxes are going to go sky high if it does. What have they done that has so offended you?

The comment that the majority favors reform is only partially correct. Latest polls show the majority favor insurance reform, but not the public option. Many reforms in this bill are great ideas, but our government cannot correctly run programs that they design. That includes Medicare, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the recent bailout and others too numberous to mention.

Not only will the majority of folks end up paying more for the same coverage they now have, we will be taxed a great deal more to pay for those who cannot pay for their forced enrollment. With shrinking paychecks and less consumer spending, our future economy will be at a standstill like so many other countries whose citizens are forced to pay through their taxes, for those who will not work for themselves.

I don't mind paying for those who CANNOT work, but I really don't want to be forced into paying for those who will NOT work, for illegal people or those who are too lazy to educate themselves into better jobs and benefits.

It is not a blog where opinions aren't warranted, but to pass off opinion as FACT is not beneficial to the overall discourse of the website. It does not help push discussions forward, and it just distracts from the truth. I'm all for anyone wanting to express an opinion cited or not, but when I ask for people to back up elements with information they rarely can.

You're not allowing for the many variables and complexities of a budget that size to come into play. Now, forcing people to buy insurance is laughable, I agree, as are many of the parts of the 'reform' bill, but there are also some quality elements. Sadly, it is a far cry from single-payer which is the only option available to make our nation healthier, happier and respected. The defense appropriations can always be cut, but how dare anyone say that?

While not the latest, it is a very in depth poll, and any data I've seen since has not wavered. The majority of Americans want health reform, insurance reform and healthcare for all. Yet, we get more money to insurance companies, worse health and healthcare for those who can afford it. So, nothing has changed.

I wasn't trying to be funny and I was not personally attacking anyone in here. It's okay to disagree but you and Todd personally attack others. I considered the above personally attacking me.

The legislation was attempted to repealed a few days later. However, it fell one vote short.

So, something did come out of it. And it was the "Tax you to death" Democrats who fought the Income Tax.

I would bet that 90% of the tea party members do not even know about the anti-gay statements on the website. Everytime I have read or saw the people on TV they were only concerned with taxes, the deficit and this healthcare bill. It is disappointing that the issue was even brought up.

While I am not a birther, but they make some valid points. The Obama campaign spents millions defending lawsuits on the topic. Why defend something you can simply cure by opening the records? It seems the little I have looked into this, the President has dodged this issue. Again, why dodge something as simple as this? Also, just because he was born Hawaii
does not necessarily make him a citizen. If he did indeed become a citizen of Indonesia, as some have claimed, then he is no longer a natural born citizen under the law. This is not a minor issue. Especially when you can see on a regular basis how his time living in Africa has created and driven his agenda.
