Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) – There is talk among Democrats that there could be a four way primary for the nomination for Governor on August 10th.
Millionaire Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont officially declared his candidacy today and told Chief Political Correspondent Mark Davis that he will opt out of public financing to spend his own money as he did in his race against Joe Lieberman in 2006.
No one doubts that former Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy will get enough delegates at the May state party convention to wage a primary, he could even get the convention endorsement. (He got the convention endorsement four years ago only to lose to New Haven Mayor John DeStefano in the primary.)
Simsbury First Selectwoman Mary Glassman is well known and well respected among Democratic party activists and operatives and could also qualify for the primary.
Former State Representative and Health Care Reform Advocate Juan Figueroa of Meriden is also highly regarded and is saying he will petition his way onto the ballot. (Candidates can either get 15 percent of the state party convention delegates or a specific number of signatures to enter the primary.)

I expect to see the same label applied liberally to Linda McMahon and Tom Foley.
Honestly, it's ridiculous.
Lamont is just on a power grab and if his nutty supporters get him into office. Connecticut is all done.
Just like Linda, Janie. Please stop with the double standards.
"Maybe that is all he has to run on"
Just like Linda, Janie. Please stop with the double standards. Oh, wait, I stand corrected... Linda has 'roid controversy, promoting lewd sexual acts, womanizing, and beating cripples on the WWE or whatever she now calls it.
Think about it !! Hopefully there will be some Democratic State Convention Delegates who will vote with their brain and not just follow Lamont's BS down the path to the Destruction of Connecticut!!!
