HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – A Connecticut Democratic official says Ned Lamont plans to officially announce his bid for governor.
The official tells The Associated Press on Friday that Lamont will declare his candidacy on Tuesday at the Old State House in Hartford, the same location where he announced his Democratic primary challenge of U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman in 2006.
The official requested anonymity because the campaign has not yet made the announcement.
Lamont won the 2006 primary against Lieberman, but Lieberman went on to win the general election as an independent.
The 56-year-old wealthy Greenwich businessman formed an exploratory committee in November and has said he’s willing to spend his own money on the race for governor.
His campaign would not confirm Tuesday’s announcement.

"Dodd Dumped"
Who is next.?
If you think people are leaving the state like rats on a sinking ship elect Ned Lamont and the moving vans will be having a mass exodus out of Connecticut.
If you want the commie bloggers who post here and at My Left Nutmeg and Hat City Blog to take over and destroy our state.
Vote for Anyone but Ned Lamont !!!!
Just like we need a rich woman named Linda McMahon who is from Greenwich? If you have a problem with a wealthy liberal from that part of state, you should also have a problem with his wealthy conservative neighbor.
"I hope the Democratic Party is not so hard up that they give into the biggest bunch of liberal wingnuts on the plane"
Just like the Republicans who were so hard up that they gave into the biggest bunch of conservative wingnuts on the planet - the Tea Party Coalition?
"If you think people are leaving the state like rats on a sinking ship elect Ned Lamont and the moving vans will be having a mass exodus out of Connecticut."
OMG, my prayers are answered, you are finally going to leave connecticut, the state you hate so much.
"If you want the commie bloggers who post here and at My Left Nutmeg and Hat City Blog to take over and destroy our state."
Well, we could elect people like you, but then we would be royally screwed.
Anyway Lamont has as much chance of being Governor as you do.
At least that what he has boasted on this blog on many occasions.
Tom Foley, Mark Boughton, Michael Fedele, Jeff Wright or Oz Griebel is more qualified to be Governor.
Ned Lamont is a puppet of the Left Wing and their nasty bloggers.
People are very smart not to support a wealthy liberal who is only running for Governor because like Obama he is on an ego trip.
Vote GOP in 2010 !!!
Again, you prove your previous post where you said conservatives possess compassion to be a bold faced lie.
Aw... whats wrong? Your little third shift job doesn't pay you enough to live a decent lifestyle? Now I see why you are angry. You are poor and envious.

I wish Former President Clinton a speedy recovery from his heart operation.
Todd will be shocked to hear this from a conservative but we are not as mean and heartless as he likes to think we are.

The post above is a big crock, apparently he doesn't count himself as "we".
Anyone on here who has intelligence knows that Todd is not happy unless he is making someone miserable.
I guess you can do that when you are a liberal.
There are more people on here who disagree with Todd than agree with the little troll.
Most people know he is in this for an opportunity grab for him and his blogger pals.
I look at it this way. If he wins the nomination and some how wins the primary he will lose in the general election.
If he becomes a two time loser and blows more of his millions it will end any other aspirations including a 2012 US Senate Run.
Let Ned run Because if he does run and loses it is a win for Connecticut and it shows that the Democratic Party in CT is still a loser.
But thank God for the independent voters. I think our state needs a republican governor. If a democrat is elected you can be sure the solution to our state budget problems will be raising taxes. If Rell wasn't there it would have already happened.
Because Connecticut does not want this one trick pony running our state.
