Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) – Former Connecticut Speaker of the House Jim Amann formally ended his bid for governor of Connecticut Thursday.
“It just didn’t work out,” Amann said.
Amann, of Milford, was one of the first to declare his candidacy, but lagged in polls behind other familiar names.
Amann told friends and supporters at the State Capitol that he had a great time campaigning but he just couldn’t find the path even though he believes he was the most experienced candidate.
“The pocketbook didn’t allow me to market myself as a candidate,” he said.
Amann was the first candidate for Governor and the first to attempt to use the new public financing law which restricts campaign contributions to $100.

He does not have a $120,000.00 position - what fact do you have to support that. I find the individuals that critizie the most do the absolute least that goes for you also shoreline snark.
unless either one of you can say that you have contributed something positive to your community - I suggest you shut up!!!
And speak on facts - not fiction.
Stop being so hateful. How would you or your family like it if someone said things about you that we untrue and insulting?
Why don't you offer some facts to refute the others?? You look just as foolish as you purport to others.
The only problem with his plan is that people realized that he was a major part of the problem that put us in the budget crisis we have now.
As for TMF (or is that Fed Up, F'd Up is a better nickname really).. I'm glad to see that you stick by your old bartender buddy.. LOL
Once it was big news, he turned it down.
Too bad it's as lame and uninspiring as your pal Jimmy boy the bartender/politician is.
And stop saying Progressive.....You idiots are Liberals.
