I don't see how big government proponents can be compromised to accept small or less government intrusion in our lives. It is like a rottweiler getting along with a cougar.
I think Obama is all show and has no propensity for small government solutions.

Furthermore, I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, Savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc… I called Lifeline, the suicide help line. Got a freaking' call center in Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal.

Obama must get real and understand he is the President and not a Commissar-in-Chief. He needs to spend more time on the issues that face this country. He is a control freak and only selects preferred journalists that he thinks he can control and punishes others who haven't sucked up to him appropriately

Barack Obama calls for national unity. This is the deception; the progressive liberal calls for cooperation between classes, but actually promotes division to conceal the tensions between the corporation leaders and their employees.

President Obama has already proven himself to be a devious, deceitful, and untrustworthy person. His campaign promises were just words to get elected. He will do more to destroy the very foundations of this nation than any other president. He speaks out of both sides of his mouth. It's like putting the fox in charge of the henhouse. He is giving away the soveriegnty of our country. He keeps talking about the "legs of the stool". There are 3 legs: Obama, Reed and Pelosi. The seat should be above them (that being the Constitution of the U.S.) but these 3 have turned the stool upside down and now are trouncing on the constitution. They are: intent on destroying the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution - the right to bear arms; trying to undermine the 1st Amendment - free speech by making it impossible for people (with an audience) to broadcasting on radio and TV because they represent a threat to their beliefs - they don't like it that conservatives like Limbaugh have a platform and an open "mike" from which they can point out the errors of the liberal threat. Have you not noticed all the deference the new administration has given to the radical Islamist, all the new non-sensical terms used to describe those avowed enemies of our freedom. A new age of misdirection has begun. Never before have our cherished beliefs been under such attack from the left as they are right now. Well, Hitler said "the bigger the lie, the more they will believe it." Obama, Reid and Pelosi can take us, even as Europe tries to get out from under it. I hope the citizens of the U.S. come to their senses before it is too late. If the blind lead the blind they all fall in the ditch - so saith the prophet. Watch out for this leader of ours who will demonize his opponents in order to silence them. Every law this group passes will include their insidious agenda to impose regulations which will make it harder for conservatives (including Christians which includes Catholics) to espouse their beliefs.
Yes, the liberal agenda is clear cut, and make no mistake about it, if we follow this leader blindly, our nation will wind up not in the ditch, but in an abyss from which we shall not escape. Our soveriegnty will be lost. The Chinese will demand something - what do you think they will want in exchange for keeping our economy going by buying our debt.

Obama no longer has the power to persuade, he must persuade to have power. he is hoping that the unity will lead to conformity once again.

Bi-partisan engagement is the very thing that Obama paid lip-service to early on, yet completely brushed aside once he had his 60 vote majority.

You had your chance to create "small government solutions" under the last administration. Yet the opposite occurred. When the Republicans controlled both the legislative and executive branch doing so would have been quite easy. Instead you got the Department of Homeland security, the biggest government entity ever developed. So, who are you and your party to complain about not having small government?

Common-sense -- "stay the course" even when the course is failing. That is the form of logic you support?

I agree with you on change. There has been little to no change. But is that Obama's fault? Or is it the fault of congress? I believe it is the fault of congress that is stuck in a dysfunctional, nasty, partisan web created by the neo-cons of the 1990's.
