Hartford (AP) – The Federal Election Commission wants more detail about how Linda McMahon, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, spent more than $567,000 during the startup of her campaign.
The Day of New London reported Tuesday that lawyers for the FEC sent a letter to McMahon’s campaign on Christmas Eve, seeking the names of those who received payments for services ranging from political consulting to computer help.
In a campaign finance report filed with the FEC last year, those payments were listed as “in-kind contributions” from the wealthy candidate.
A spokesman tells The Associated Press that McMahon’s campaign is reviewing “routine correspondence” from the FEC and will respond appropriately before the Jan. 28 due date.
