Obama might be taken more seriously if he had come out sooner to address the event. Now it just looks like he's been waiting for instructions as to what to say. Sorry - this is just how he appears. His vacation is more important and he's going to show us that.

Obama doesn't care about the American people. He just wants to get a paycheck and have us pay for his vacations

Janie -

Then how do you justify Bush not cutting his vacation short and staying in Texas during and after Katrina. His lack of a quick response has become legendary. So, this was ok with you insofar as Bush was concerned, but not in Obama's situation?

Early Tuesday morning, August 30, a day after the hurricane struck, President Bush attended a V-J Day commemoration ceremony at Coronado, California while monitoring the situation with his aides and cabinet officials.

Bush was criticized for not returning to Washington, D.C. from his vacation in Texas until after Wednesday afternoon, more than a day after the hurricane hit on Monday. (Bumiller, Elisabeth. "Bush criticized over storm response." International Herald Tribune. September 2, 2005. Retrieved on July 15, 2006.)

Visitor -

Please do not forget that Bush took more time off than any president in US history.

90% of the airport security is nothing but "security theater"
intended for the traveling public. The real security happens in secret by professionals. Unfortunately, the longer Obama is in power, the more incompetent people infiltrate the system while the professionals are ether pushed out or leave in disgust.

There is only one reason that these events (Fort Hood Shooting, Atempted bombing of airplane) and that is that the Homeland Security, FBI etc. will not share information about terrorists or possible threats with each other!!!

I think this Presidend is much more engaged than the last one.

The people that hate Oboma will always hate him no matter what. They all find TV 8 news blogs to blather on, endlessly.

Can we give all the hate posting a break ?

Until we get our heads out of our butts from "not wanting to trample peoples so called *rights* " or wanting to "inconvenience" people more than they already are, all this "security" so far is mostly for show and a crap shoot at most....

Like, thanks to "profiling" as a dirty, filthy word *whistles*....

Like someone said in Isreal the other day " not all Muslims are terrorists BUT when you look at the terrorist acts being committed around the world, the terrorists ARE Muslim, for the most part.......

It IS what it IS.............

Todd - I am totally DONE talking about Bush with you. I never said Bush was 100% right. That is in the past. I haven't seen one media outlet yet that thinks Obama is on the ball when it comes to security. I'll give him time but I will still have my own opinion and that is he is clueless.

Its time to start profiling. i haven't seen anyone but muslims involved in terror attacks. its such a waste of time asking someone's grandmother to take off her shoes when she's in a wheel chair.

Comment from: visitor [Visitor] Email
We can't profile because the ACLU will throw a fit. My mother-in-law who is wheel chair bound had to walk through the security machine!! Unbelievable. Obama and Napolitano can't bring themselves to admit their are Islamic terrorists who want to harm us. He gives a speech three days late, and reads it with no passion or anger. Even if the worst occurs...(God forbid) he won't change. Keeps offering our hand to them...and they spit on him and us.

Hosed,

You said it best...99.9% of the world's terrorists are Muslims. We need to stop the politically correct garbage and protect the American people. Of course the majority of Muslims in this country are good law abiding people but they might have to be inconvenienced to account for the few that aren't. It makes no sense, in a time and resource way, to go after people that we know aren't terrorists.

Since there wasn't any loss of life or injuries (thankfully) I think Obama's response was well measured and timely.

I'm also glad he put it out there that we (the US) still plan on hunting these rabid dogs down and exterminating them....

LOL I still don't care for the guy as President, but I've got to give credit where I feel credit is due...

Whats wrong, Janie... angry that I called our your double standards... AGAIN!

PS. Janie... you haven't seen any media outlet that claims Obama is on track because you only watch FOX and listen to conservative talk radio. You also ignore anything that doesn't fit your understanding of the facts.

"Here we go again. Todd with Bush again. You're a broken record. "

As if you, janie, etal. arent broken records? The facts are the facts. Whether it is Bush, Clinton, Obama.

So we've got a guy who tried to kill ~300 people and according to the President we will "hold them accountable". Lovely. May be Obama can send Holder to the guys lawyers office and offer to swallow. Maybe then he'll cooperate. LOL LOL LOL LOL
The TERRORIST has 3rd degree burns around his "junk"... sounds like a squirt gun filled with rubbing alcohol might make him "cooperate".

Who cares what obama thinks-- he is a failure at everything he does and like to blame others. As Truman says "the buck stops here."
Obama failed on Christmas Day, just as President George W. Bush failed on September 11th (though he succeeded in the seven years after that).

Obama and those on the left believe management skill is blaming others. If they were not so stupid, we could hear real solution that are in sync with the American legacy of success. Blind partisan politics is killing our American way of life while the many in the media still want to coddle the Obama dynasty with BS while hoping we are too stupid to not believe them.

Politico is reporting:

Former Vice President Dick Cheney accused President Barack Obama on Tuesday of “trying to pretend we are not at war” with terrorists, pointing to the White House response to the attempted sky bombing as reflecting a pattern that includes banishing the term “war on terror” and attempting to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

“[W]e are at war and when President Obama pretends we aren’t, it makes us less safe,” Cheney said in a statement to POLITICO. “Why doesn’t he want to admit we’re at war? It doesn’t fit with the view of the world he brought with him to the Oval Office. It doesn’t fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency — social transformation — the restructuring of American society.”
