Dodd statement on health vote
By ConnPolitics.tv Editor on Dec 24, 2009 | In News, Sen. Chris Dodd (D) | 55 feedbacks »
(WTNH) – From Sen. Chris Dodd’s office after the Senate passed the health care reform legislation:
“The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is the most important bill to improve the economic security of our middle class in a generation. And none of us will ever cast a more important vote,” said Dodd.
“The last year proved that progress is not easy. But today, we have proven that it is not impossible. And this is the beginning, not the end, of our efforts to make this country stronger and healthier – and this victory only strengthens our commitment to make that happen.”

WRONG-------- all you pathetic losers have done is weaken an already shaky nation..........
Under Obamacare, Americans will be forced to buy government-approved health insurance and anyone earning a middle class wage will have to pay for it out of their own pocket. Federal subsidies will only be provided for people who are not offered coverage by their employer and earn below the 400 percent poverty level.
Employers will not be required to offer their workers coverage, being subject to a $750 annual penalty if they fail to do so, a figure most analysts say is not high enough to prevent employers from dropping their plans, meaning that more people will be forced to buy government health care.
“The Senate health care bill gives employers two powerful incentives to stop offering health insurance coverage to their workers,” writes Terry Jeffrey. “First, if an employer does offer coverage, its lower-wage workers will lose the federal insurance subsidy they would otherwise get. Secondly, if an employer does not offer coverage, the $750-per-worker fine it faces will be far less than the premiums it would pay if it did offer coverage.”
YES! November 2010 will be the beginning to make this country stonger and healthier - we will be voting Dodd and his cronies OUT OF OFFICE !!!
You need to look at you self in the mirror and ask why am I so mad? Why did the American public not vote for my guy? The answer is so simple. Can you say GEORGE BUSH? Yes he did this to you. He is the real reason you are so mad. So look to your own people for your real anger. Our guy is the best thing since Kennedy!
As I stated before, the Neo-libs think this is over but it isn't, so don't capitulate just yet.
Many governors crying "foul". They want the same deal as Neb.
Some think the senate violated the law and parts of the bill are illegal.
What a madhouse! It should be fun watching to see who will win the war.
And check out today's poll.
NoBama is a carbon copy of Bush, beholden to big companies that have bought him off to look the other way while Raytheon gets an expansion of the "police state" in Afghanistan and the military/oil complex gets new bases and Big Pharma wins a huge handout from congress, lead by this fool. How is this changed from the last fool that was in office ? You must love burning the flag and the constitution you commie moron !
YES WE CON!!
YES WE CON!!!
This is not gloting, this is ALL fact.
GET USED TO IT! (now that was gloting)
If Goldmach Sachs hadnt installed Obama, he might have a shred of credibility or be someone who is worthy of following. Your dreamworld is just about to end.
The difference is you republicans are totally out side the fence in the cold by your own reasoning and we are in the warm cossy White House with the fires going looing out on you nit wits. You could have been part of this but you choose to be the Governor Wallace of the situation. Your loss. Once again you republicans are on the wrong side of history.
Just say no to Obamacare. !!!!
"Dump Dodd"
I will NOT be spending CHRISTMAS in CAMBODIA.
Not Dodd, though. He'll still pay about a quarter of that because we pay the rest for him. The same for Murphy and the rest of your member of Congress. So they could care less that you will pay more and get far less.
They're cutting doctors' fees by 21% while this year they gave themselves an extra $93,000 each to spend.
Try to find a doctor to see you for $35 a visit. It costs twice that for a visit to the veteranarian.
Democrats controlled Congress from January 2007 on. Liberals seem not to have a brain at all. The last time the budget was balanced Republicans controlled both Houses of Congress. What did Democrats do when they got their chance?
Oh, that's right- they quadrupled the deficit and doubled the national debt!
The problem with welfare now is that it is so generous that it allows those who do nothing but take from those who work to post thoughts on their computers.
Where do you get all these crazy ideas? Health care reform has nothing to do with the gov't controling anyone's lives. You are really gullible .. you must have gotten all of this misinformation from the special interests (the lobbyists from the health insurers and drug companies...trying to protect their profits)....don't fall for it....its just propaganda and has no basis in reality. What if you lose your job? What will you do with no health coverage? Declare bankruptcy? Don't let your mind be poisoned by these special interests and the likes of Fox News...the propaganda machine of the far right who have no regard for the middle class.
First it has not become law yet.
Second it is not universal health care like Canada or Europe.
Third on 12/24 the WTNH poll indicated that 77% were against Dodd and Lieberman voting "yes" for the health care bill when I saw it.
Last Howard Dean, the biggest liberal in the USA, stated they should kill the bill and start over.
I guess the results didn't fit the agenda.
I happen to be a staunch environmentalist, as well as libertarian/conservative leaning. You, on the other hand, happen to be knucklehead....
If you Do....
Your a Dummy!
