CT considering if Nebraska gets money

Hartford (AP) – Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell has asked the state attorney general to sue the federal government if Nebraska receives extra Medicaid money in the final version of federal health care reform legislation.
In order to secure the support of Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson for the bill, Senate Democrats included a controversial provision that allows the federal government to pick up 100 percent of the cost of Medicaid expansion in his state.
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal says he’ll review the governor’s request, but that a lawsuit is premature at this time.
Rell, a Republican, says the inequity of that provision is “astonishing.” She says Connecticut is traditionally reimbursed at a 50 percent rate for Medicaid expenses and could reap up to $262 million annually if it got the same deal as Nebraska.

"Dump Dodd"
"Dump Lieberman"
By the way, CT did get $100 million in the bill to help build a new university medical center. I wonder where the rest of the construction money will come from, and where the money will come from to cover the inevitable operating deficits. At least what Nelson got for Nebraska is really a benefit for his constituents. Dodd got us an albatross! If we're going to build a new medical center in this state, let's build it where the need for additional care and hospital rooms is greatest.
It spreads the cost around MORE.....
Penalize & fine people for "NOT" buying over -valued health care insurance???? * whistles*
