Dodd: "It is a great, great day"
Posted by ConnPolitics.tv Editor on December 22nd, 2009
(WTNH) – Speaking with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and others this morning, Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd called the impending passage in the Senate of a health care reform bill makes this “a great, great day for our country.”
Earlier in his statement Sen. Dodd said, “My hope still is that our friends on the other side, as we move forward in this process into conference, will decide to step up and offer their ideas and suggestions, so there might still emerge from this process with partisan, a bi-partisan rather effort on health care.”
After more procedural votes, the final vote on passage of a health care bill in the Senate is expected Christmas Eve.

Dodd's greed and arrogance will be his downfall and he has no one to blame but himself.
Both Dodd and Lieberman should be ashamed of themselves for selling us out to SCARY Reid.
I hope REID loses when he comes up for re-election.
If he has any 'friends' on the other side - I'm going to vote against them too!
Dump Dodd forever!
Then leave the country. No one is keeping you here Jane. If you hate it so much pick yourself up and move to the only other country in the world that doesn't provide universal health care, South Africa.
"Dump Dodd"
Todd, are you looking forward to paying three years in advance of receiving any benefits.
No, Todd, I won't leave. I'd like to take back the country from the liberal morons who are running it into the ground. Universal healthcare= endless gov't bureaucracy, rationing of care, massive redistribution of wealth, reduction in R & D, and so on. All achieved through bribery, trickery and sleazy deals by people who will NEVER have to wait in line for care the way you and I and all the other poor slobs will.
Dump Dodd 2010...can't wait!
He can say that now all he wants...
We'll be repeating his very words on November 3rd, 2010 when the tally shows that Dodd's been given the boot.....
Make it right. VOTE OUT THE INCUMBENTS!
As for Dodd he was all done awhile ago.
Also health care stocks going up fast. Drugs prices up 9% and climbing. Why?
It would be way better if liberal jerkoffs like you left the country so we conservatives could regain our liberties and freedoms again.......
Goodbye Liberman!
Goodbye Peolosi!
Goodbye Reid!
Goodbye Frank!
shall I continue this list of losers who will be outest in 2010. These people are worse than terrorists.
Oops. i shouldn't say that work..
the Obamanation calls it "Man Made Disasters"- you know like that guy who kills our soldiers. god forgid we should call it what it is...terrorism.
i can't wait to oust them all!
I would like to Thank you for giving us the short end of the stick once again and getting yourself a great deal on your mortgage SMUCK.
Those you see posting here are the base of the Republican Party. The "facts" and opinions these people spew are right out of Rush's, Becks, and Palin's play books. A frightening notion, isn't it? These conservatives almost destroyed our country once, and I'm sure they will have the opportunity to make another attempt in the near future.
Oh, and if you all are so concerned about your liberties, how come not one of you will address what you lost as a result of the Patriot Act? Is it because you can't defend this legislation?
should be banned from entering or even living near any government building.
Ans yes I AM picky about which liberties I give up. If being safe means I can't go to Canada on a whim then so be it, BUT I do not want a DMV style worker between my doctor and I.
Their country is also suffering from staggering unemployment rates, a failed government and drug war as well. You're attempting to create an apples and oranges situation.
'Ans yes I AM picky about which liberties I give up.'
The fact you're willing to give up any means you don't care about any.
Quit being a wiener. Why don't you look at yourself in the mirror and examine your hypocrisy. And while you're staring at yourself dig up some of your previous posts. I'm sure you'll find some nasty ones.
You only answered why they are crossing our southern border to come into the USA, the real question is why are they not continuing to Canada?? Please answer that.
I do care about my liberties, but I realize that I have to have life in order to have liberty.
Am I not free to play street hockey on my busy street? Yes
Is such a right that I wish to take? No.
Firstly, you didn't direct the question to me, and I was not answering the question. I was merely commenting on what had been asked, so therefore your statement is incorrect. Secondly, the question can be answered in various ways, as the variables exist. One being geography, travel, expenses. An undocumented immigrant also routinely returns back to their place of origin, in this case Mexico, if they are merely working on one side of the border. It is a matter of logistics, or at least within this given variable set.
'I do care about my liberties, but I realize that I have to have life in order to have liberty.'
Remember that good ol' quote by the man on some money. 'Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.'
Am I not free to play hockey in the street as well? Yes.
Am I free to purchase items at stores? Yes.
Is that truly freedom? No.
