Washington (AP) – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expressing confidence about the prospects for passage of historic health care legislation after daylong talks with Democratic holdout Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska.
In a statement issued late Friday night, Reid says he intends to unveil final revisions to the measure on Saturday and is confident they will prevail.
Nelson also said real progress had been made but said there was nothing final.
Nelson has been seeking greater restrictions on abortions as well as more money for his home state in last-minute talks.

"Dump Dodd"
If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until its free. The cost of this folly is going to ultimately be absorbed by the working class. The money to fund this bill is going to raise taxes and federal deficit levels to never before seen amounts.
Oh, and by the way. Do we really want the same government to run healthcare that take 6-8 weeks to process a passport. Somehow I think that a strep throat can't wait that long.
Good luck America
Man the lifeboats, the CHANGE has arrived!!!!!
While I'm collecting unemployment, and watching 14 hours of TV, feeding my fat face, my next door neighbor, who is self employed, and is slim and healthy, will now be forced to buy health insurance. This will give money to the insurance companies, so they will accept me, at 300 pounds, with my pre-existing condition: The fat gene, diabetes, and 180/95 BP. Now I can get my lap-band surgery!! Woo Hoo!!!
In fact many democrats will lose their seats over this.
