I agree that the "old" lending practices need to be thrown out...

It does make me laugh though, that the banks make it ALL out to be the governments fault that all this happened.....sure, the government put pressure out there to "push" questionable loans through...BUT....the banks didnt have to.........they took advantage of it ALL....easy $$ for most.... throwing GOOD credit practices out he window WASNT the way to go and we have found that out...its like the STUPID BOBS & BARBERINO car commercials, "" bad credit?? NO credit?? common down......" LOL...CRAP.........certain people WONT be able to afford a new car OR a friggin house....plain & simple...it isnt a RIGHT to own either.......

The banks are RIGHT in saying that NOW they need to be more careful......they do....this administration STILL thinks the opening up the flood gates to "borrow" is the answer to our problem...it ISNT.......

Debt is going to kill this nation...personal debt AND by the pathetic government....

What about Dodd & Franks.... they are on the banking committees - aren't they going to be part of the process or
1. Is Congress moot?
2. Obama knows who is really at fault and want them out of the process?

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -18.
Obama and his left wing policies are a disaster. I am surprised that the disapprove is not much higher. It must be apathy.

"A rigid economy of the public contributions and absolute interdiction of all useless expenses will go far towards keeping the government honest and unoppressive."
Thomas Jefferson, letter to Lafayette, 1823

I think we have deviated from our past intent.

"But with respect to future debt; would it not be wise and just for that nation to declare in the constitution they are forming that neither the legislature, nor the nation itself can validly contract more debt, than they may pay within their own age, or within the term of 19 years."
Thomas Jefferson, September 6, 1789

How about never pay the debt back with an interest rate that itself is oppressive and a determent to our national security. Is this the change people voted for???
