I still don't understand why Lieberman voted for the heathcare bill in the first place ?? He said it was a terrible bill then went ahead and voted for it. Both of our senators have got to go...they are so entrenced in these political games that is called our congress. They have done NOTHING to help America...outsourcing, free trade, union pay offs...have all ruined this country. Obama Sucks... more of the same sh*t. We need someone who will really make positive changes to this country.

I don't live there but I'd like to see Liberman, and many other go. The Congress is too full of good ole boys, who have been around forever and get mega bucks from the lobbyists. That's why we always get half-a**ed bills that really don't change anything.

Joe has reviewed the facts and made the right decision. Anybody who votes for this extremely poorly written health reform bill will most likely not be re-elected.

Just like the credit card reform bill that was as badly written. Now my credit card rates have gone up and they are tacking on additional fees. Great job democrats!

Go Joe!

The author of this tidbit intentionally neglected to mention those comments were several years ago before Obama gave us a humongous deficit. The deficit this year alone will eclipse the total of 8 years of deficits under Bush. It would be irresponsible to add to this deficit. Obama and the democrats are irresponsible.

"More smear tactics by the left."

How so? He supported it as part of his campaign. Now he doest support it. You would call this "flip-flopping". It is not smear, it is the truth.

Lieberman Defends Health Care Record

By DAVID LIGHTMAN
And MARK PAZNIOKAS Courant Staff Writers

"I have long supported the goal of universal health care," Lieberman told reporters. "Ned Lamont can talk about it. I've been doing something about it all the time I've been here."

From the New York Times, December 14th

"Democratic leaders noted that Mr. Lieberman on numerous occasions had voiced support for the Medicare buy-in proposal that he now wants dropped. It was part of a health care proposal that he championed as Al Gore’s running mate in the 2000 presidential race, and three months ago he expressed support for the same concept."

"The author of this tidbit intentionally neglected to mention those comments were several years ago before Obama gave us a humongous deficit"

They were made when bush was giving us an enormous deficit.

This is just Joe Lieberman doing what he does best... looking out for Joe and his pocketbook..

Campaign contributions...

Insurance $1,040,320
Pharmaceuticals/Health Products $617,540

"During his 2006 re-election campaign, Mr. Lieberman ranked second in the Senate in insurance industry contributions. Connecticut is a hub of the insurance business, with about 22,000 jobs specifically in health insurance, according to an industry trade group."

Hey Bill, who do you think created the deficits to begin with? We were already pilling up the debt when Obama was elecetd. you carefully fail to mention that Ole W cut taxes after the first round while we were in the middle of two wars. But hey, Bush and Cheney were right for this country were'nt they? I think it's time for all of you right wing nut jobs to get an education. Oh wait, that's not a conservative position is it? The more ignorant you keep the people the more control yo can exert over them. It will never change with you guys, will it?

Joe Lieberman has much too much say in the debate on health care. He's been bought off with contributions from Insurance industry and pharmaceuticals. He's not speaking or voting for the benefit of the people..just for himself and whatever those behind him tell him to say and dol. (one explanation of his flip flopping). It's time to get rid of the career senator such as Lieberman who no longer represents the people. WHy are we letting him have so much say in badly needed health care reform.
Sick and tired of such corruption and blantant self serving actions.
