Rell pokes fun at Dems in speech

Cromwell (AP) – Democrats were the main target as Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell dished out the jokes while unveiling her annual Christmas gift list.

Rell told the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce in Cromwell on Monday that she would give Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd one of her old scarves to cover up the bull’s-eye on his back. Dodd is facing a tough 2010 re-election campaign.

Rell’s gift for majority Democrats in the state legislature is the game she said they could really use – “Clue.”

Rell also joked that she has put the Legislative Office Building up for sale, after Democrats asked her to sell off surplus state property that’s not used anymore. She said nothing is going on at the LOB.

The governor also wished peace on earth for Connecticut National Guard troops serving overseas.

Yes Man is obviously a member of the Legislative Wrecking Crew, who wouldn't know how to balance a budget if you gave them instructions. Special Program this ... Special Program that ... "Oh no! Don't cut that $12 million program that employs three people!"

Give us a break, Democrats ... stay home in 2010 and leave the state by 2012.
