Obama to outline Afghan strategy

Washington (AP) – President Barack Obama’s day will be dominated by his speech on Afghanistan this evening, but he does have other things on tap.
This afternoon he’ll meet with Nobel laureates and their families in the Oval Office.
Later, Obama meets in the Oval Office with senior advisers. Then he and Vice President Joe Biden meet with Defense Secretary Robert Gates. The president and vice president will also meet with congressional leaders to talk about the administration’s strategy in Afghanistan.
In the evening, the president travels to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., to deliver his speech on the expected Afghan troop buildup. The speech begins shortly after 8 p.m. Eastern time.

He has made a decision, but the wrong one. Continuing this useless, expensive, and ideological war is pointless.
However, I am sure all the wing nuts here will be happy. He is finally doing something they can and will support... continuing the policies of the previous administration.

Simply put.....we CANT afford this WAR...PERIOD...money OR with lives lost anymore....
especially the way that it has been laid out so far....
we need to get our a$$'s OUT of there...........
we are wasting BILLIONS over there and in Iraq on just "payoffs" to individuals and "tribes" with little or no success........thats NOT fighting a WAR.....thats just flushing money down a toilet...

The surge is the only example of how he "fought to win" - if you want to call fighting an unjust war, engaging in torture, prison abuse, racial profiling, holding prisoners w/o habeus corpus, etc "moral and just".
