Lawmakers to hold hearing on recession

Hartford (AP) – Connecticut lawmakers want to know how the recession is affecting children.

Members of the General Assembly are planning a series of public hearings in an attempt to answer a series of questions about Connecticut children, such as if families are able to provide during the recession, if prospective college students are able to pay tuition and if teens can find jobs.

The first hearing is planned for Dec. 5 at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford for residents living in the 1st Congressional District. Four other hearings are planned for other districts.

The task force, created by House Speaker Chris Donovan, was formed to help the General Assembly address children’s needs during this economic downturn.

I wonder why our brilliant lawmakers can not look to history to resolve economic issues. Instead they act like this is the first time the US and or world has gone into a recession/depression. Where do we get these people from? Didn't they get any education in Capitalism as apposed to Socialism?

heads of households cant find jobs.............

spending $20,000 per year or more for college with "hopes" of MAYBE finding work???? LOL



no.....just make sure there is MORE of a tax burden on EVERYBODY so there WILL be more suffering on ALL people....

Just like when in 2008 when gasoline was over $4.00 a gallon in most places...the pathetic lawmakers ALL saying "" we have to do something for the POOR consumers in this state...."" .... we have a gasoline tax that is based on the wholesale price of gasoline, which means if the price of gasoline goes UP SO does the states gasoline tax......."" WE "" get royally hosed........ WHERE is ALL the concern you pathetic vermin ????? huh ??...how about just chargin a flat gas tax....be FAIR.......

Hold all the worthless pathetic " hearings" you want...........
