RI gov opens door to domestic partnerships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – Gov. Don Carcieri, a gay marriage opponent, has opened the door slightly to the limited recognition of same-sex relationships in Rhode Island.
The Republican governor still opposes gay marriage and said during the 2006 election that he opposed civil unions for same-sex couples.
But after a closed-door meeting with a gay rights group, Carcieri told reporters Thursday he would consider creating a domestic partnership system similar to one approved this month by voters in Washington state. That Washington plan will allow same-sex couples benefits such as the right to use sick leave to care for a domestic partner and rights related to adoption, child custody and child support.
Rhode Island’s most vocal gay rights group has been lobbying exclusively for gay marriage.

I do not support gay couple adoption. Children are not lab rats we can experiment with.
I am sure I will be labeled as a hater - That's what happens whenever you oppose the gay agenda......
Your mile!
In a few years they will be pushing gay marriage - look at what happened here in CT.
They're experimented on just the same in any heterosexual-based relationship.
'It is time we stop listening to the fags because they have a remedy with civil unions.'
Can we remedy your bigotry?

Yes. Over the past year thousands of couples were allowed to marry and show their love, and how has it affected you? It hasn't.
Mabe you could lay out what restrictions you would like on your life.

If the President's people and a past president can use the term "teabaggers" I believe it is acceptable to use the term "fag" in describing people.
Oh yeah, and I'm opposed to rednecks, academics who never worked an honest day yet have all the answers and the two-party system.
He's probably waiting for me to break up with my girlfriend.

If this is your source of valuable information, well.. I can't say I am surprised by your views and lack of knowledge.

^Nasty bigot^ If you don't like it move out of state. I'm sure you won't be missed.
"He's probably waiting for me to break up with my girlfriend."
Actually I'm not. But, thanks for the offer.
Daniel,
Which God do you worship because it sure as heck isn't the three in one tirune I am preying to. But heck! Maybe you can marry Sue, have 18 children and teach them all to prey to your god and use words like "f--".
In sort, gay marriage doesn't effect you. If you are so worried about government intrustion then stop encouraging government to intrude into my life.
Thanks.
