HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut lawmakers are creating a task force to study better ways to prevent domestic violence and help its victims.
State House Speaker Chris Donovan says legislators are frustrated by what appears to be an increase in domestic violence incidents as the economy has worsened. He says the impression is based on accounts of adults and children seeking help at domestic violence shelters statewide.
The new task force holds its first meeting Nov. 30 at the state Capitol in Hartford.
It’s being asked to review spending on domestic violence prevention programs and to identify trends. The group will also advise the legislature on how to make it easier for victims to get and enforce restraining orders against their abusers.

Because of course the Bible says nothing about sex slavery, or isn't misogynistic or anything.
'I said and will say that GOD needs to be put back in the school systems and back into the courtrooms.'
Once you allow the speaking freely about homosexuality.
'GOD also needs to be put back into the CHRISTMAS SEASON at stores with employees being able to say MERRY CHRISTMAS without anyone saying they are going to fire you.'
Nothing is wrong with Happy Holidays as it incorporates everyone. If you're offended by that, then you make no sense.
'It's time the CHRISTIANS in this country stood up to the rest of the nation and said enough is enough and if you don't like it pack your bags and get out of the U.S.of A.'
The logic could also apply to you.
There are a number of places in America now where there is a great bias in favor of teaching children about Islam than there is about Christianity. You actually have schools today that will have a class on Islam but refuse to have a class on Christianity. I'll let you decide whether that's a bias."
Facts, please?
'A virulent hostility toward religion is threatening the very fabric of American liberty and prosperity…'
As it should be. Religion is one of the single most destructive forces within the fabric of our society.
