Rell fires back at Lamont

Governor Jodi Rell on Friday fired back at Democrat Ned Lamont, who has come out swinging against her.

Lamont, who announced his exploratory committee for Governor this week, has been attacking Governor Rell’s handling of the budget. During a speech on Thursday at
Central Connecticut State University, Lamont implied that both the Governor and
legislature were to blame for a bad budget and that it was bankrupting the state
with too much borrowing.

“I appreciate his new found interest here but I would tell you; ask him if he would spend his energies convincing his fellow Democrats in the legislature to work with me to help cut spending and reduce the size of government,” the Governor said. “And, if he’d recognize that their tax and spend ways are probably what’s bankrupting our state.”

Governor Rell has promised to announce her intentions by the end of this month.

In response to the old cleche tax and spend for an excuse...like in the song turn turn which was derived from the Bible Eccleseastics,there is a time to tax and spend and a time to conserve.
If we don`t spend it dams up the assembley lines which,lays the workers off,which increases unemployment which bankrupts buisnesses.
Which turns states into ghost states which have ghost towns which ripple out to turn this nation into a ghost Nation.
Instead of the greatest super power of all Nations.

Good for Gov. Rell. Don't take any of that "blame game crap" from Lamont. He can't run on his own credentials because he doesn't have any. He is full of self admiration - nothing else!

if ya read some of the fine print in new obamacare unfunded mandates are to be picked up by the state. So as bad as our own state handles there finaces , the federal gov does nor help, it hinders. So our senators & Congress people that are voting for this bill are adding to our State budget.

I don't think the Governor did her job letting the budget go through when she knew it was flawed. Lamont seems to think he is the answer to Connecticut's problems and can do a better job than lets hear his solutions. The only answer to this budget problem is cutting government and its out of control spending. Responsible people are tired of supporting those that think they are entitled to everything without working for it.

Ned Lamont has no chance of beating Susan Bysiewicz or Dan Malloy. Lamont wants press coverage and to stay in limelight so he can run against Lieberman again. Lamont is just a snobby little trust fund baby from Greenwich and we saw the creeps and weirdos that supported him in 2006. Especially that goofy a-hole dumbkopf that runs CCAG and was his Campaign Manager. Rudy Marconi, Gary Lebeau and Jim Amann would be better alternatives to this a-clown.
