Speech interrupted

Governor Rell had to pause her State of the State address this afternoon after a photographer for one of the television stations passed out during her speech.

State Capitol Police rushed to the area where several of the stations have camera locations and found photographer John Roache on the floor. EMTs were summoned and quickly came to his aid. A state representative seated near the cameras gave the ‘thumbs up’ to indicate that Roache was okay.
Before she resumed her speech, Governor Rell said, “I know that everyone knows that this is a somber speech, but I apologize that it actually made someone faint, but he’ll get better.
John Roache is a veteran WFSB photographer and his assignment manager tells News Channel 8 he is undergoing tests at Hartford Hospital but seems to be okay.
