As Congress, the President and Governors move forward to pass an economic stimulus package and state spending budguts, here are four things to watch for:

1. How does it affect small businesses and the self-employed? Small businesses are the job creation engines of our economy. Any stimulus package should focus first and foremost on them.
2. How are entrepreneurial start-ups supported and encouraged? We should have our economic eye on the General Motors of the next thirty years, not the last thirty years.
3. Does the plan maximize the rate of investment in U.S. companies? By making the United States the best place to invest, we will make it the best place to create new jobs.
4. Does the package encourage growth in productivity? Making American workers more productive not only increases our ability to compete with foreign competitors, it also increases incomes.

I thought she did a good job w/ her speech. She knows that CT citizens are indeed angry and she did mention and warn that the budget isn't going to be pretty and that it hurts her to even present it. She was honest and sincere I thought. Now let's see if she can get us out of this hole we are in.

"The Generational Theft Act of 2009" is the correct name for the debt that our government is legislating on us while they panic and pass hasty economic stimulus laws that have limited transparency.
Also, we are rapidly advancing toward hyper-inflation that will make the Connecticut spending cuts and tax increases pale in comparison.
Where are the media watch dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Democrat Veto-Proof majority in both houses of congress in CT. Rell has about as much influence regarding the upcoming budget as my dog.
The Democrats can pass whatever budget increases, tax increases, spending increases that they want and leave Rell to read about it in the newspaper.
She has the same power over upcoming budgets as I do.
