Hartford (AP) – Connecticut Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz has certified all the results of the Nov. 4 elections.
The official tallies show that slightly more than 80 percent of registered voters in Connecticut cast ballots. That’s the highest voter turnout percentage since 1992.
Connecticut voters chose Democrat Barack Obama for president by a nearly 2-to-1 margin.
Technically, voters chose seven electors for president and vice president. They will meet in the state Senate on Dec. 15 to officially cast their ballots for president and vice president.
Similar Electoral College votes will be cast in state capitols throughout the country on that day. The Electoral College vote will be counted in a special joint session of Congress on Jan. 8.
